Weird Question: Two versions of Wheel of Life album?

My girlfriend almost swears that she has heard a version of the cd that is absent of certain background sound effects and stuff like that. When I let her hear the disc I had she claimed she had not heard some of the things that were on it during some of the songs. Is there anything to this... perhaps an odd promo version?
