Although steeped in Traditional Blues and American Roots music, the Mississippi Mudsharks were never ones for being pidgeon-holed into any one catagory. They’ve always approached their music with a great sense of originality and cross-over appeal. “Grease Punk” is the term they’ve coined to describe their blend of Traditional Blues, Country, and Surf, done with a “f*ck you” attitude. Scottie Blinn’s aggressive guitar style, gravely vocals, and propensity for putting drunk patrons in their place, earned him the nickname “Mad Dog” by partner Eric “Jailhouse” Von Herzen. He approaches the Blues, and all Roots styles, with that same aggressive attitude that'll sock you in the gut every time. With their roots firmly planted, these guys blur the lines between American Roots, Rock, and Punk with an original sound all their own. Blinn likes to compare it to his ’52 Chevy...“flat black on the outside, but a souped up 350 under the hood and loud-ass lakespipes off the sides.” Dark, Greasy, and Raw

« Le festival de la guitare de Verviers 2008 en début de mois a tenu toutes ses promesses. Le groupe "The Brew" qui était sur la scène du Spirit of 66 s’est rendu célèbre grâce à des membres atypiques. Le trio britannique compte dans ses rangs 2 jeunes prodiges : Jason Barwick, 18 ans, à la guitare et Kurtis Smith, 20 ans, à la batterie, des noms dont vous risquez bien d’entendre encore parler...

"The Brew" est un trio, qui montre tous les ingrédients d'une fusion des talents de Jimi Hendrix, de Jimmy Page et de Stevie Ray Vaughan et Jason Barwick. Jason Barwick est certainement un futur talent de la scène rock. Il a commencé à joué de la guitare à l’age de 5 ans et ne l’a plus jamais lâché.

La BBC a déjà adopté ce jeune guitariste et l’a promis à devenir l'un des dix meilleurs guitaristes britanniques. Il joue avec la maturité, la fluidité et la clarté d'un musicien de trois fois son âge. Kurtis Smith (19), le batteur du groupe est un digne successeur au trône de Bonham et il est aussi présenti de devenir l'un des meilleurs batteurs d'Angleterre.

Non seulement son jeu au sein du groupe est impressionnant, mais son solo sur "Moby Dick" de Led Zeppelin est une sorte de « classe de maître » hallucinante ! Enfin, le troisième larron est Tim Smith, chanteur et bassiste du groupe. Il y a deux ans, The Brew a connu un tel succès au « The Rock'n Blues Custom Show » qu'il leur a été demandé de donner un second concert sur la scène principale, chose que les organisateurs n'avaient jamais demandé à aucun groupe en 25 ans d'histoire du festival.

Dans la semaine qui suivit le festival, ils reçurent près d'un millier de demandes d'adhésion sur leur page MySpace qui arriva No.4 dans le « Top Classic Rock Artists » et n°64 dans le « Top Rock Artists » dans une liste où figurent 1,2 millions de groupes ! Nouvau projet de Roine STOLT, AGENT OF MERCY propose un progressif à la FLOWER KINGS version mélodique, tendance GENESIS. L'effet est d'ailleurs amplifié par le phénomène Nad Sylvan au chant, issu d'UNIFAUN. Avec son timbre si particulier, Nad apporte sa couleur sur l'ensemble de l'album, bien qu'au départ il ne devait faire que quelques appartitions. Le courant ayant si passé entre lui et Roine, il a intégré le projet AGENTS OF MERCY, que partagent aussi Jonas Reingold, Pat Mastelotto, Zoltan Csörsz... Notre insatiable guitariste suédois nous offre donc un nouvel exploit progressif, délicat et 70's, riche et émouvant.

MICHEL AZAIS - NORBERT BEDNAREK - RAPHAEL PIRE

HANDY MEN - HOMMAGE à JAMES TAYLOR Depuis toujours, le chanteur et guitariste belge MICHEL AZAÏS interprète très naturellement les chansons de JAMES TAYLOR et ça lui va plutôt bien. L'influence du légendaire songwriter américain est bien présente dans l' écriture musicale de ses propres chansons. D' abord en duo avec le pêrcussionniste RAPHAËL PIRE qui joue sur une cajone trapèzoïdale construite d' après le modèle de CARLOS VEGA, regretté batteur de J.Taylor. Ensuite en trio avec l' arrivée du guitariste allemand NORBERT BEDNAREK, maître du Finger style et de la guitare Jazz manouche. Celui-ci remarque leur prestation sur le podium d'un festival belge important et propose alors de former le trio qui sera baptisé plus tard "HANDY MEN" . Depuis le début 2009, le "JAMES TAYLOR TRIBUTE" fait parlé de lui dans l' EUREGIO.

In 1976, Phil Collins takes the helm as the new singer of Genesis. With the undeniable legacy left by Peter Gabriel, the band launches its new world tour following the release of "A Trick of the Tail" knowing they have a lot to prove. Including the first ever stage laser, Genesis keeps its tradition of delivering a highly visual show with an extensive song list of new titles and the band’s classic pieces. "A Trick of the Tail", considered one of the strongest and innovative Genesis album, sets new grounds for Genesis live performance with the infamous drum duet of Collins with guest musician Bill Bruford. Phil Collins' new role is well received and marks a new era for the band which is soon to be propulsed to new heights of becoming one of the most influential rock bands in history.
