Ritual already working on a followup of The Hemulic Voluntary Band!

http://blogs.myspace.com/....=435722791

"AUTUMN NEWS

We are in a very creative mood at the moment! Composing, playing, listening, laughing. A lot of new music emerging and taking shape, as is the story/stories.
We can also affirm that Javier Herbozo, the illustrator who did the amazing cover and the artwork for Hemulic, will work with us again! I can't wait to see his first sketches! Together we will try to create something quite spectacular.

In a few weeks we will take a short break for rehearsals for the upcoming shows in England in the beginning of November (we haven't played the Hemulic tunes since the tour back in May). Then, some time late in November, we will retreat to our fortress of fantasy (our sufficiently untidy rehearsal room) to continue mapping out the new journey.

Peace, Love and Prog to everyone!

Fredrik, RITUAL "

Sounds very promising!

Re: Ritual already working on a followup of The Hemulic Voluntary Band!

Yea, some news again:

... it never really stops actually. Though it might be silent for a while, at least on the Internet. Since the last gig of the Hemulic Voluntary Tour a couple of months ago (Nov 2008) we have been busy mapping out a new musical journey, in a way picking up where the ”Dangerous Journey” left off. Not that there are many Hemulens or little girls with glasses and lazy old cats on this journey (so far!).  This seems to be a quite new story. We’ve seen a horse drawn carriage in a hasty flight and we’ve heard the clattering of hooves on cobblestone in the night...and we dreamt of a devilish city on the other side of some moonlit river....

In short, we are in the compositional mode right now. Composing, playing, listening, thinking. A lot of new music is emerging. We still have a lot of hard work before us, putting it all together. We have been invited to play at a festival or two this summer but have decided to decline. We feel we need to invest all our time and energy in the new album.

We can also affirm that Javier Herbozo, the illustrator who did the amazing cover and the artwork for Hemulic, will work with us again! I can't wait to see his first sketches! Together we will try to create something quite spectacular.

The game is afoot!

Mr. Bogd is awakening!

Yours faithfully

Ritual

This is terrific news!  Ritual is another fantastic band.  A new album is definitely something to look forward to.

Re: Ritual already working on a followup of The Hemulic Voluntary Band!

Some news from the site:

This summer has been great! Everyone has had a well earned vacation with their families. Johan has mostly been at home in his garden besides days of swimming and fishing in the great lake Mälaren. Fredrik has been on a trip to one of the most beautiful places in Sweden, named Kinnekulle. There he has been hiking and bicycling and studied Kinnekulle´s geology and flora. Jon went to France and did some climbing in the mountains besides eating great food and drinking great wine. Patrik took a trip to Croatia and was amazed about how clear and beautiful the Mediterranean Sea is there.

Now the long Swedish summer nights tend to grow shorter. Soon the autumn is here and the sun fades away....... Many Swedes feel sorry about this but there are some positive things to. One thing for sure is that Ritual will start working again. To night we were in the rehearsal room for the first time during this summer and tried some new ideas for the grand final for our next album. It felt great!

Re: Ritual already working on a followup of The Hemulic Voluntary Band!

Okay, okay, a bit late (already read this news last week), but here it is for you in all its glory:

http://www.ritual.se/Ritual_Official_Web/News/Poster/2010/4/11_The_progression_of_the_new_album_-_and_some_more_news__files/shapeimage_2.png
The progression of the new album - and some more news:

Today we had a really good and rewarding session in our rehearsal room. For quite some time now we have been working really hard and meticulously with the musical and narrative dramaturgy of the final episodes of the story. Together, these three episodes or “songs” makes up about 20 minutes of music, spanning from gentle and eerie-atmospheric to thrilling action and tremendous commotion (and almost everything in between). It is an effort of some magnitude weaving it all together, but I think we really made a break through today.

So we are not resting on our progressive asses. We are dead set on bringing Mr. Bogd back home alive and sane (and to put this quest to music). It’s a dangerous journey, but someone has to make it.

More Ritual news!:

Legendary progressive band Kaipa is back with their 10th studio album, called "In the wake of evolution”. As usual it features the eminent vocals of Patrik Lundström (Patrik sings on all Kaipa albums since Notes From The Past). And once again Ritual’s Fredrik Lindqvist participates as a guest musician, playing recorders and whistles on a couple of songs (just as he did on Kaipa’s 2007 release Angling Feelings).

Even more Ritual news:

If you want to hear more of Patrik’s powerful voice - and also see him in action! - you can check out the popular Swedish TV-show “Så ska det låta” (aired on April 2 2010). “Så ska det låta” is a music game show (based on the irish The Lyrics Board). In each episode there are two teams. Each team consists of a piano player/team captain who is joined by two celebrities/singers, at either side. Watch the show here! Patrik rocks! Enjoy!
