Jethro Tull | 1969 | Rockpalast presents: Swing In

The German state-owned company WDR's television programme 'Swing In' laid the groundwork for live recordings of rock and jazz acts during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Its successor, the renowned Rockpalast, officially commenced in October 1974, building upon this concept and establishing itself as an institution. In the programme 'Swing In', produced for WDR, filmmaker Wim van der Linden presented the quirky everyday life of the then still underground band Jethro Tull on their breakthrough '69 England tour and shows that launched the band featuring "a mad flutist" into orbit.
