IAN PARKER (uk) (solo)

Certains habitués auront probablement un peu de mal à comprendre pourquoi je m’acharne à programmer ce IAN PARKER..  Il n’y a jamais la foule avec lui.. Et  bien, c’est très dommage et surtout très injuste.  Ce jeune guitariste Anglais a une voix magnifique, un jeu de guitare des plus subtils et des plus personnels qu’on puisse trouver dans ce circuit… Mais, ce qui marque surtout chez lui, se sont ses compositions… Mon Dieu, que c’est beau !  Bien entendu c’est fortement teinté de Blues mais c’est nettement mieux construit et charpenté que du Blues en 3 accords basiques… y a des mélodies et de la musique là dedans… c’est clair, limpide et magnifique ! Ça vous donne la chair de poule et ça puise dans les sentiments les plus profonds.  On ne se roule pas par terre à ses concerts mais on ECOUTE…

Allez faites un effort, et amenez Madame, elle aimera, vous verrez !

UN TRES, TRES GRAND TALENT A DECOUVRIR..

Kershaw’s impressive CV starts in 1984 with the release of his album “Human Racing” , which featured hits such as “I Won’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” and  “Wouldn’t It Be Good” and achieved multi-platinum sales. The equally successful “The Riddle” followed and, in July 1985, he took the Wembley stage to perform at Live Aid.  In 1990, after four MCA albums and sales of over 8 million, Nik left the spotlight to concentrate on song writing and producing. The following years saw him working with Elton John, Chesney Hawkes, (for who he penned the smash hit “The One and Only”, featured in the film “Buddy’s Song” and celebrating the 20th anniversary of its release this year) Cliff Richard, Bonnie Tyler, Lulu, Ronan Keating, Jason Donovan, Tony Banks, Michael W Smith, Connah Reeves, Nick Carter, The Hollies, Colin Blunstone, Imogen Heap, Gary Barlow and Let Loose. He rekindled his recording career in 1998 with the critically acclaimed album “15 Minutes” and has subsequently released two albums: “To be Frank” in 2001 and “You’ve Got to Laugh” in 2006. He has received accolades from such legends as Eric Clapton and Miles Davis and has been nominated for four Brit Awards. 2011 see’s Nik Kershaw back on the live performance circuit with some old and some brand new material to please worldwide audiences.

Tribute to YES

C’est vrai que quand on présente un truc aussi difficile qu’un Tribute to YES sans avoir vu le groupe sur scène, y a quand même toujours un petit doute que le groupe soit vraiment à la hauteur du challenge qu’il s’impose lui-même… Avec YESSONGS  après seulement quelques minutes de concert tout le monde a très, très vite compris que « ça le faisait »… Oufti, Mammé : le chanteur a « la » voix qu’il faut et les musicos derrrière assurent comme des bêtes… c’est sûrement pas un hasard qu’on y retrouve à la guitare le fabuleux guitariste Anglais du fameux FRAGILE, qui nous a régalé avec ses concerts il y a quelques années, même qu’une fois, ils ont débarqués avec nul autre que STEVE HOWE comme guest-guitariste… fallait  déjà le faire aussi, et surtout que le guitariste « normal » du band ne fasse pas pâle figure à côté de MONSIEUR Steve HOWE… Alors que ce band ITALIEN se paie le luxe d’avoir « ce » guitariste Anglais  dans son band… ça donne quand même une idée du niveau où ça se promène !

A NE MANQUER SOUS AUCUN PRETEXTE… si vous aimez la musique de YES

MACHIAVEL(B)

Un de nos plus anciens groupes belges nous sort , comme ça,  tout à coup un album d’une qualité exceptionnelle !  Franchement,  « 11 » est un rassemblement de chansons dont chacune pourrait être un « hit »… On sent de la maturité, une fraîcheur intacte et un sens poussé de la mélodie… On voit tout de suite que ces morceaux sont « taillés » pour la scène… je sens que les concerts vont être magiques… y va faire très chaud au Spirit of 66 !
