This legendary footage captures the classic, original Radio Gnome Trilogy lineup at the absolute peak of their psychedelic powers. For those wondering about its origin, this clip is pulled from a September 1973 broadcast of the French TV show Rockenstock – later officially released on the Gong: On French TV 1971-1973 DVD – filmed in a French forest countryside hunting cottage. At the time, the whole lineup lived as a hippie commune in this large, isolated hunting lodge called the Pavillon du Hay, located in the middle of the forest near the town of Voisines in the Burgundy region. You can really feel the unhinged astral vibrations of Daevid Allen, Gilli Smyth, Steve Hillage, Didier Malherbe, and the others from the Gong family, working in perfect, bizarre harmony here.
