Topic: Recommended hotels?

Message: I've used Le Midi and found it to be a great hotel - modern and clean, and with sports facilities (if you like that sort of thing!).Its a strange building though - its all inside metal-clad warehouse - walked past it a few times thinking I was totally in the wrong place ;)Its quite a walk from Verviers, especially on a potentially cold and / or wet October evening, and it may be too late each evening to get a bus.http://www.hotellemidi.be/en/hotel.htmlAnother place you might consider is a new hotel, actually in Verviers. Its 4* but the rates aren't too bad. I think Francis uses it now for the bands. Tell them you are going to Spirit of 66 and you might get a better rate!http://www.hotelverviers.be/Then there's the "quaint" Hotel des Ardennes. A small hotel with a nice little bar (which closes quite early - don't expect to be able to get a drink after returning from Spirit!). It is right outside Verviers Central train station and about 5 mins walk to Spirit of 66. Its very old-fashioned but kept clean and the staff are very friendly. Its sometimes difficult to guarantee a room here though, because they won't take bookings more than a month ahead, but its not usually a problem unless you're trying to book on the same weekend as the Spa GP (which you're not!)http://www.hotel-verviers.be/hotel/Hope this info helps.

Topic: Recommended hotels?

Message: I plan on coming over for this year's Prog Résiste as I can't resist this awesome lineup.I've never been overnight in Verviers, so any recommendations? A buddy recommend the "Le Midi" in Petit-Rechain. Obviously, there might also be some bands in this hotel from time to time, right? Thanks!Jürgen
