At the age of 14 he was already a part of the Dallas/Fort Worth music scene and playing regularly in the clubs along Jacksboro Highway. While attending high school Buddy played in a band called "Short Change" which opened for Point Blank , a band that he would latter join, replacing rhythm guitar player Kim Davis. During the early 80's, he formed and sang with his own band "The Sidemen". In 1991 they opened for John Mayall and when Coco Montoya left the Bluesbreakers in 1993, Mayall called him to fill in. In Mayall's band Whittington also sings occasionally and contributes to songwriting. 2008 saw the release of his first solo album. He lives in Hurst, Texas with his family.Buddy Whittington usually plays a 1963 Stratocaster plugged into a Dr. Z amplifier. Walker et le guitariste-chanteur Rickey Medlocke (qui jouait la batterie et la mandoline chez Lynyrd). La particularité du groupe est de compter, avec Jackson Spires le batteur, trois authentiques Indiens dans ses rang  Seul le guitariste Charlie Hargrett représente les blancs du sud des Etats-Uni   Le groupe se sépare en 1984. Ricky Medlocke tente une reformation en 1987 avant de rejoindre Lynyrd Skynyrd en 1996.    Blackfoot se reforme en 2004, mais sans Ricky Medlocke et Ken Hensley (ancien membre du groupe Uriah Heep arrivé dans les années 80). Bobby Barth (issu du groupe Axe) assure le rôle de chanteur. Le décès de Jackson Spires, auteur de nombreux textes du groupe, en mars 2005 n'empêche pas le groupe de continuer, avec Jay Johnson (de Rossington Band et Southern All Stars) à la troisième guitare et au chant, et Michael Sollars à la batterie.  Le groupe sort en 2007 un double CD/DVD live Train Train. **********************************************Mer/Wen  10/05      20h00     13 Euros    Super Australian RockELECTRIC MARY(Australia)C’est du lourd !
