Re: The latest news!

No sign of a DVD yet but here's some more info on their upcoming gigs:

Hello friends...
It..s been some time since I last wrote here but things have been kind of
hectic lately. One of the main reasons is I have been renovating my bathroom
believe it or not..smiles...Have been without hotwater for a month almost.
It really makes you think how spoiled we are nowadys taking so
many things for granted.
Anyway...The band have had a short break last months. Well almost...Olle
has been writing some lyrics for the next album which I am currently
looking at. In April we will start to rehearse for our show at the Nearfest Festival
in Bethlehem, PA, US. We are really excited about this as it will be only our
second show ever in the US. The first being the Progday Festival which we played in 2004.
A great part of that show was also used for our livealbum "War Years" which was
released last autumn.
We will play Nearfest on sunday the 21st of June at 4.15 pm.
We will also do our first ever German show at the Prockfest Festival on the 3rd of
October in Bielefeld.
On the 7th of October we play the "Rock at sea" festival cruiseship leaving from Stockholm.

Re: The latest news!

Some news again. As per email (edited out some private things wink):

Hello my friend.
How are you??
Sorry for late reply but have been on holiday in Romania.

We are happy with the nearfest gig though like you said there
were some people who could not get into us...we also had bad
slot playing second last at the festival before PFM.
On top there were sound issues...basically the guitar now and
then out of the mix.
But we got really positive feedback both after the gig and coming home.
Will be interesting to watch the video...they had 7! cameras in HD.

Otherwise we will start to rehearse for our Europe shows coming autumn.
Will be fun to play Germany and Poland for the first time and also hometown
of Stockholm.....
Will be the last shows for a wile since we will devote next year to the making of
the new album
Here is a link to liverecordings from the 70s....bootleg....we have nothing to do with it.
But it´s worth checking out.
http://tonkraft-sr.blogsp....t-x-4.html

Anyway...take care....and keep in touch.
Best wishes
Stefan

Re: The latest news!

Te latest from TK myspace:

Hello dear friends.
In the evening of Friday the 31st of October I got
a terrible pain in my lower back, it also went down in
my left leg. Spent a sleepless night and then saturday
morning off to the emergency clinic. Got the diagnosis
lumbago and precriptions for different medicines.
Hard to put words on the pain really....just let me say that
it makes you really revalue what is important in life.
One other immediate issue was that TK had a show booked
on Saturday the 7th on the Rock at Sea festivalcruise leaving
from Stockholm. I was rather pessimistic about it that weekend,
But....I slowly got better last week and last Friday decidied I wanted
to have a go at it...
So on Saturday afternoon I took a taxi to the ferry terminal and boarded
the ship with the other guys in TK....I felt very shaky during the soundcheck
but somehow the adrenalin came rushing during the show and I think we
managed a very good gig...warm response from the audience and good
sound and spirit. Luckily for me this was a short gig...only one hour.
Arrived back in Stockholm on Sunday..a taxi back home and straight to bed.
Feel better from day to day now..so hopefully I am back in business soon!

Otherwise TK finished 2nd in an online poll, "Best Swedish Progressive Rockband Ever".
We were beaten with only one vote by our friends the Flower Kings. But silver is OK too.
Thanks to all who voted for us.

Except for a show in Göteborg, Sweden on the 28th of ¨March next year TK has no
shows booked. Instead we will work on a new album, the last in the trilogy which
started with "Elden av år" and "I början och slutet".
Olle(lyrics) and me has already started the writing.
There is no releasedate set but we hope to have it out next autumn 2010.
I will of course keep you updated here as the work progresses.
Anyway..think that´s all for now...stay healthy...and take care.
Peace and love from
Stefan

Re: The latest news!

Ouch! - well I know about back pain. I remember one time not being able to get out of my car due to excrutiating pain.

Jonas Reingold also suffers with back problems BTW, so we're all in good company wink

New Album Update

At the moment we are writing and rehearsing
for the new album, the third and last in the trilogy
which started with "Elden av år" (2004) and "I början och slutet" (2007).

Re: The latest news!

I'm a bit behind on updates. Haven't heard from Stefan in a while. Here's some news from their site:

We have uploaded a few new "historic" videoclips
on our Youtube Channel. First there is "Metamorfoser"
from the Dramatic Institute in Stockholm 1975.
Secondly there is the rarely played song "Europa",
originally from the fifth album "Kriget", filmed at
Studion, Stockholm 1996, and last "I början och slutet"
filmed at the releaseparty for the same album in Stockholm 2007.
Please click on the link here to get to our Youtube
Channel:

We have uploaded a new videoclip on
our Youtubechannel. It´s the rarely
played song "Röster från minus till plus"(Voices from minus to plus) from the selftitled debutalbum. It was filmed in
November 2008 at the Silver Elephant Club in Tokyo.

40th Anniversary!!

It was a warm summer evening in June of 1970. All of us being in our midteens meeting up at our friends, the Persson brothers, house. Celebrating that high school was out for summer with some cups of coffee and some chat. Suddenly Pocke proposed that all of us there who played an instrument should form a band. We all agreed and TK was born... To celebrate this 40th anniversary we are releasing a handnumbered limited edition (100 copies)single of 2 previously unreleased tracks from our archives. Konserten -73 and King Eric (1972).
King Eric will only be available here. Not as download on
Itunes and other sites.

Update New Album

An update on the new album...most of the songs for the album
are now written and preliminary arranged.
We will have one more week of pre-production rehearsals in the
begnning of July to go through the material one more time.
So far it really looks promising:)We will of course continue
to publish updates here as the work progresses including hopefully some videoclips from the coming studiowork. Take care!! Peace Stefan/TK

Re: The latest news!

OK guys, here's the latest:

here´s lots of activity in the TK camp right now.
Last rehearsals for the new album coming up and on
Friday the 8th we will start to record the album.
More updates coming. Peace Stefan

And the single is great! Great recording and music. You won't be disappointed!

And from a personal mail (last month) :

Have had a
lot rehearsals for the new album plus of course lots of work
with songwriting at home with Olle. This week Chris is in
Italy on holiday so a bit more relaxed now.
Plus....in less than two weeks on friday the 1st, me and
Jessie will move to a new bigger house. I will get more
space for my music which is really nice.

And... the Melloboat DVD is coming soon! At last!
