The legendary early 70s heavy rockers who all but invented stoner rock (well, them and Blue Cheer, Pentagram, May Blitz, Budgie, Dark, Elias Hulk, the list is endless....) with the classic 'Growers Of Mushroom' album and reformed in 2004, releasing the superb 'Unleashed' in 2007, play an exclusive date here on Saturday the 21st June, as a warm up for their forthcoming tour of Japan financed by doom label Leafhound Records- a label named after them!!

Support comes from Oxfordshire groovemeisters DESERT STORM, who are also on tour this year with Karma To Burn, and have been described as the closest thing a UK band has produced to the Kyuss sound but with a more British heavy rock edge, SEDULUS, who sound like Mogwai trapped inside Tony Iommi's distortion pedal, and BLACK JUJU, who are not a stoner or doom band at all, playing raw garage punk ala The Stooges, MC5 and Gun Club, but have been known to meander off into 'Jazz Odyssey' territory from time to time. The point is, they're all bloody good bands...

The gig finishes at elevenish, but the bar will be open til 2 30 am downstairs with much retro heavy rock, stoner, prog, psych and NOBWOB style djing from my good self...

TRAVEL INFO

Nearest station: High Wycombe (Chiltern Rail) Nearest tube: Amersham (Met Line and Chiltern Rail) then no. 4, 52 or 62 bus to Wycombe town centre. The venue is a 10-minute walk from there heading East along the London Road.

BUS: Buses from Wycombe centre to venue: Arriva 32, 35, 37, Arriva/First 74 (only til 8 30 pm though) and Carousel 336/X36 and A40/740, but these last stop quite early, so they may get you there but not back!!

Last bus to Princes Risborough and Aylesbury departs 11.30 pm from Eden Bus Station, High Wycombe

COACH: Last coach to Oxford, service 737, departs Eden Bus Station 23.45 pm, then the next day's services, for all you night owls, begin at 03.10 am. Last coach all destinations to Stansted Airport, same number, departs from the same stop at 01.40 am.

TRAIN: Last train back East (Beaconsfield and all stations back to London) departs 23.27 from High Wycombe. Last train heading North West (all stations to Birmingham Moor Street and further) departs  22.00, so that's obviously not happening, is it? Take a coach to Oxford and change. Last train to Princes Risborough and Aylesbury 00.56.
